Elematic Plc is a Finnish company founded in 1959 that designs, manufactures and delivers production technology, machinery, equipment, know-how and entire prefabricated factories for the precast concrete industry. Elematic has made about 3,500 deliveries to over 100 countries.

Elematic is the market leader in its field, whose machines stand out in the market not only in their efficiency, high quality, and innovative solutions, but also in their design. We have been working together since 1992. I myself have always been involved, and I was in charge in choosing Muodonmuutos to work with us.

The cooperation started with the fact that we had a need and were looking for a maker. We compared possible partners and ended up with Muodonmuutos. The decision was clear. Muodonmuutos was a small company and we thought that when we started working with them, we would gain a broader view of these issues from the whole team. This is how we came to choose Muodonmuutos and there has been no need to regret it. Our cooperation has worked.

We have completed several design projects, but it all started with the design of a hollow-core slab machine, or extruder. It is the number one product at Elematic, by far the world leader in the market.

We had made this new extruder model with Muodonmuutos and it was taken to the Bauma trade fair. It became a huge success. Our stand became one of the meeting points at the fair. Previously, when new products were launched, doubts were raised about the functionality and durability of the products.

“Now all the feedback was positive, all doubts were removed when the machine looked so convincing.”

On the market, the product was very well received. The ergonomics, usability, occupational safety, and serviceability had also been considered.

Over the years, the product has been developed and facelifts have been made accordingly.

From the very beginning, we have been looking for recognizability in the design language. We have seeked for the same as with car brands, from which you can tell from a new model that it represents a particular brand. So when you see our new machine, you’ll realize right away that it is an Elematic machine. Our aim was to achieve recognisability and to build a brand, and Muodonmuutos has helped with this.

The cooperation has brought a lot of extra benefits that may not have been thought of at the beginning. We thought about the design, the design language, but it comes with ergonomics, occupational safety, and maintenance, which we engineers may not always have thought about so thoroughly.

Elematic’s machines work in bare factory environments, so why should they look streamlined and cheerful? That’s the trick – when our machines please the people who work with them, they will be better taken care of, for example, washed more carefully at the end of each shift. And this transforms to better reliability of the machine.

Muodonmuutos is a good, reliable partner. Communication has been good all along and it has been easy to deal with them.
